Your Lie In April (Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso)

Domou (Hello).

Long time no see, huh? It's already been a long time since I made an update. So I just want to briefly make an update — about an anime that I watched quite long time ago (in the end of 2015 if I'm not mistaken. And of course, this anime taught me a lot of thing about life. Sighs, I cried a lot even though I repeated it for like few times, I still cry. To those who's totally sucker for sad animes, I really recommend this one. Besides, this anime has great-line of OSTS. The first opening especially, Hikaru Nara (光るなら, If You Will Shine) by Goose House. It's a very good song and you'll never get tired of it. And the other songs too! They're totally something that you would look foward to.

Title: Your Lie In April, 四月は君の嘘 (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)
Genre: Drama, Music, Romance
Written by: Naomi Arakwa
Anime directed by: Kyohei Ishiguro
Episodes: 22

Plot:

Piano prodigy Kousei Arima dominated the competition and has become famous among child musicians. After his mother, who was also his instructor, died, he had a mental breakdown while performing at a piano recital at the age of eleven. As a result, he is no longer able to hear the sound of his piano even though his hearing is perfectly fine. Two years later, Kousei hasn't touched the piano and views the world in monochrome, without any flair or color. He has resigned himself to living out his life with his good friends, Tsubaki and Watari, until, one day, a girl changes everything. Kaori Miyazono, a fourteen-year old audacious, free-spirited violinist whose playing style reflects her manic personality, helps Kousei return to the music world and shows that it should be free and mold breaking unlike the structured and rigid style Kousei was used to.

Personal comments:

So here's how I described this anime: Sad. It's freaaaaaaking sad. It touched me a lot and I freaking cried over their precious friendship and unrequited love. Kaori's appeareance in Kousei's life changed a lot of things and I just can't accept the fact that they couldn't end up together (oooooops what a huge spoiler here). But I can't deny the fact that this story is sooooooo beautiful and everyone needs to watch it and cry along together. Damn, talking about this anime makes me wanna watch it again and cry all over again. Seriously, I really hope that I can get a sequel or a continuation from this story, about how Kousei coped with his life (living without Kaori of course). Or at least, I need to know how Kousei live his high school life. I'm so bad in reviewing aren't I? Whatever, I just wanna share the pain of watching this anime though.

"You're you. "To be like you..." - it's not so ambiguous as that. No matter what you do, no matter how you change, it doesn't mean a thing. you're just you, no matter what." — Kaori Miyazono

"A lump of steel, like a shooting star. Just seeing the same sky as you makes familiar scenery look different. I swing between hope and despair at your slightest gesture, and my heart starts to play a melody. What kind of feeling is this again? What do they call this kind of feeling? I think it's probably... Called Love. I'm sure this is what they call love." Kousei Arima
